Syllabus

Course overview and goals

This course aims to educate students on cutting-edge research in the psychology of leadership. Students will learn the 5R (Readying, Reflecting, Representing, Realizing, and Reporting) tools of Identity Leadership, and analyze real world leadership issues through this and other theoretical lenses. They will devise an independent research topic related to the psychology of leadership, and report on their findings in class and at an online symposium, which will be open to the public, in conjunction with a keynote speech by an expert in the field.

Participate in a symposium on the Psychology of Leadership as a panel presenter and discussant.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

This course is a HyFlex lecture that includes an online class. Students will be required to participate in an online symposium. During the online symposium, sufficient means of communication will be ensured by assigning several TAs. (Details of events will be announced separately.)
