Course overview and goals
This course is a program positioned within the "Motivation and Awareness-Building Stage"—the first of the three stages of entrepreneurship education, which also include the "Competency Development Stage" and the "Social Implementation Stage."
At our university, we define "entrepreneurship" as a behavioral system (mindset and skills) for developing and setting new value into society, and we believe that this can be manifested not only in business fields such as starting a business, but also in all fields including research and development fields in academia.
This course is positioned in the "motivation and awareness-raising stage" and "competency formation stage" of the three stages of entrepreneurship education: the "motivation and awareness-raising stage," the "competency formation stage," and the "social implementation stage".
Students taking this course should select and participate in workshops from the list of "Workshops as contents of this course ", taking into account the "Grading Methods and Criteria" alongside the mindsets and capabilities they wish to cultivate or strengthen, their personal interests, and their schedules.
The pluralistic basic elements of entrepreneurship are classified into three categories: “INNOVATION”, “INITIATIVE”, and “MOTIVATION” as shown below. The workshops we offer are divided into these three categories, depending on the elements they focus on, and are presented in the " Workshops as contents of this course " section below. Please use this as a reference when choosing workshops.
INNOVATION: Issue Identification, Idea Generation, Vision Setting, Hypothesis Testing, Visualizing Solutions
INITIATIVE: Communication (consensus building), Team Building, Project Management, Practical Application and Reflection
MOTIVATION: Self-awareness, Recognizing the source of your motivation, Goal Setting, Transforming Knowledge
Features:
1. A point system where students design their own course content.: Students select from the workshops in the table below, taking into consideration their own interests and convenience, and attend after receiving confirmation of their participation. Passing the workshop requires earning a certain number of points for attendance (point system).
2. Diverse student participation: Students from a variety of backgrounds and years can participate, regardless of their major or year.
3. Workshop format: Instead of the traditional "listening to lectures" format, this workshop format allows students to experience and practice work-interactive methods.
4. Off campus tutors and specialized lecturers are used as facilitators: Various training contents and new methodologies are proposed every day for these workshops, and outside practitioners and specialized lecturers are used to keep the content and methodologies up to date.
Course description and aims
1. Participate in multiple workshops with varying themes and objectives to experience and understand the mindset and skills that constitute "entrepreneurship," thereby fostering one's own entrepreneurial capabilities.
2. Demonstrate "entrepreneurship" and translate it into actions that "pioneer and define new value.".

Evaluation methods and criteria
1. Evaluate based on a numerical score.
2. After meeting the baseline criteria—specifically, including one workshop from the "INITIATIVE" category, completing a total of 2 or more kinds of workshops across all categories, and accumulating 13 or more attendance points—a comprehensive assessment will be conducted. This evaluation will consider attendance status, awareness of one's own participation objectives, understanding of and engagement with workshop themes, communication with group work members, and the status of survey responses.
3. Please note that attendance points vary by workshop; therefore, as previously mentioned, be sure to consult the workshop guide for this course—accessible via the "Undergraduate Students" button on the "Entrepreneurship Development Workshop" page of the ToTAL website (https://www.total.titech.ac.jp/lead_innov/).
4. Each workshop covers each element of entrepreneurship, which can be strengthened through repeated practice, so we recommend participating in as many workshops as possible. In addition, I would like students to take the separate ``Bachelor's Value Creation Group Work Practice A/B (ENT.V205/ENT.V206)'' as an opportunity to comprehensively utilize these elements, actually demonstrate ``entrepreneurship,'' and practice ``social implementation'' that develops and establishes new value.
