Course overview and goals
All of the "English Presentation Seminar" courses are designed to provide students with the tools to deliver effective presentations with confidence. As these are practice-oriented courses, students will deliver multiple presentations throughout the term. Furthermore, students will sharpen their listening skills by learning how to ask good questions and become active listeners.
As a 200-level elective course, English Presentation Seminar 8 offers more challenging contents than the 100-level courses. It equips students with the foundational skills to deliver well-informed individual presentations.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to deliver an individual presentation while engaging the audience followed by a question and answer session.

This course is taught by an instructor who works professionally as a theatre director, writer, and performer. He will use his experience to teach effective expression and active listening

Class flow
This course will be a continuance of English Presentation Seminar 7. The aim is to further improve students' public speaking skills. Students will continue to practice the necessary skills for effective public speaking (both in English and Japanese). This is a participatory class that will involve students role-playing, conversing in small groups, and making presentations to the class. Western theatrical techniques as well as Public Speaking methods will be incorpated into each class.
Exact subject matter may differ from that laid out in the syllabus in order to follow the educational needs of the students If the number of students wishing to enroll exceeds the limit, enrollment may be restricted. All prospective students must attend the first class.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
