Course overview and goals

The aim of this seminar is to help students acquire an understanding of the basic concepts of Psychology. The main goal of this seminar is acquaint you with having an more in-depth understanding of "mind" through reading literatures and attending conferences.

The first seminar will be held on May 13, 13:30-15:25.

Course description and aims

Students will acquire the fundamentals of psychological-scientific thinking methods through reading literatures, presentations, discussions and attending conferences.

Class flow

Although the schedule is irregular, the seminar will be held approximately once a month on Wednesdays during periods 5–8 from May to September. In September, all members will participate in an academic conference. The conference we will attend is the 90th Annual Convention of the Japanese Psychological Association, to be held at Toyo University from September 4 (Fri) to September 6 (Sun), 2026. During the conference, students will attend lectures and sessions related to the latest developments in psychological research according to their individual interests.
From May to September, the seminar will include reading academic literature, giving presentations, and engaging in discussions to deepen understanding of each student's research topic.

Class format: The course will be conducted face-to-face in the classroom.
