This course introduces step-growth polymerization
This course provides an opportunity to learn about frontier researches in the fields related to polymer chemistry.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain polycondensation, polyaddition and addition-condensation.
2) Explain process chemistry for polymers

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Students' knowledge of polymer science and synthesis. Exercise problems 30%. Final exam 70%

Prerequisites

Students must have completed undergraduate-level courses in organic chemistry and polymer chemistry. A level of proficiency in organic chemistry equivalent to that required for a graduate school entrance examination is necessary to take this course.
Early enrollment by fourth-year undergraduate students is limited to those who intend to enter the Applied Chemistry Graduate Major. Students who have not yet decided on their graduate major should contact the instructor.
Students wishing to enroll should email their student ID number, name, and laboratory affiliation to Prof. Konishi at konishi.g.aa@m.titech.ac.jp by 5:00 p.m. on October 1.
