Course overview and goals
This course allows students with professional work experience as members of society to obtain credits and the relevant Graduate Attributes (GA0M and GA1M) when the graduate major certifies that the students have already substantially fulfilled the Graduate Attributes (GAs) required for master’s program students through their experience and achievements in professional activities in companies or similar organizations, including those at previous employers as well as those continuing to the present.
In light of the nature of the GAs, as a general rule, this course is intended for students who have approximately two or more years of professional work experience in companies or similar organizations. However, this requirement does not apply if a student is deemed to have already fulfilled the GAs through other experience or achievements even if their professional work experience is less than this.
The maximum number of credits that can be earned through the Master’s Recurrent Training is two in total. For example, it is possible to earn a total of two credits by taking Master’s Recurrent Training 1 twice, or to earn two credits by taking Master’s Recurrent Training 2. In such cases, the experiences or achievements used as the basis for each course must be different.
The total number of credits that can be earned through “Master’s Recurrent Training” (including “Advanced Master’s Recurrent Training”) must not exceed two credits in total.
Course description and aims
This course is designed for students with work experience as a member of society to obtain credits by having the graduate major to which the student belongs certify that the students has already practically fulfilled the Graduate Attributes (GAs) required for master's program students based on their past and current work experience and achievements as a member of society.
[GA0M] You can clearly plan your own career and recognize the abilities necessary for realizing it while considering ethics and relevance to societal problems.
[GA1M] You can acquire the knowledge, skills, and ethics necessary for realizing your planned career and contribute to societal problem-solving while collaborating with other experts.

Examples of experience and achievements that may be considered eligible for earning credits in this course include the following:
Practical work experience in business or related activities within a company
Experience in activities related to standardization (*)
Roles responsible for events or other activities that can be publicly demonstrated
Presentations at academic conferences (*)
Roles in academic societies or as a member of organizing committees for international conferences
Authorship of journal papers or academic articles (*)

(*) These must not overlap with credits earned through “Koukyu (Research Seminar).”
Then, the students, after completing the documents and materials, submits them to their graduate major via their academic supervisors. The graduate major approves the credit earned and the number of credit(s) earned from this course based on the documents and materials submitted by the students.
Once a course has been approved for credit and the number of credit(s), the students should register for an appropriate course in the most recent quota (Q) available for registration. If a student attempts to take this course at the very end of their doctoral program, there may be no Q available, so students should take this course early.
