Course overview and goals

Focusing on Yoshiro Taniguchi and Kiyoshi Seike, who can be considered the origins of architectural design at Science Tokyo, this study involves visiting their existing buildings, archiving architectural drawings, conducting measured surveys, and creating drawings. Through these activities, participants will explore the genealogical characteristics of architectural design at Science Tokyo—such as its "pure aesthetics" and "technology and tradition"—while also learning drawing techniques.

Course description and aims

By understanding the architectural philosophy of Yoshiro Taniguchi and Kiyoshi Seike, participants will develop a sense of scale through measured surveys and acquire the ability to express their findings through detailed drawings.
