Syllabus
Course overview and goals
The aim of this course is to help students acquire Japanese skills for reading, speaking, and writing, as well as vocabulary and grammar. Students are also expected to discuss and study what the culture is.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) communicate in Japanese;
2) enjoy and appreciate Japanese culture and society;
3) have their own viewpoints about Japanese culture.

Class flow
A specific topic will be assigned for each lesson, and students are expected to participate in group discussions based on the assigned examples and questions. Students are required to attend every class, and to submit the final report.

Class 1 | Students are expected to participate in one of the Japanese classes (400 and 500 levels) which is suitable for their language ability, and to have their own viewpoints in terms of Japanese culture through class activities. | Acquire higher language skills and the profound knowledge of Japanese culture. |

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes each for preparing for and reviewing each class (including the time spent for assignments) by referring to textbooks and other course materials.
