Syllabus

Course overview and goals

2nd and 3rd year students of undergraduate course will face various crossroads of career, such as laboratory selection, going on to graduate school, job hunting, etc. Decisions at these crossroads influence their future career after graduate from Science Tokyo. Therefore, it is important for students to understand what they should study and consider during undergraduate course and at graduate school.

The aim of this course is that students will be able to imagine their own future careers during undergraduate course and also to understand what is preferable to learn in addition to expertise.

The lecturers who are active in various business fields show what they considered and engaged assuming their future careers during their student days. They also show useful activities which they engaged or what they should engage in their student days from the viewpoint of their career paths. Students who take this course are able to acquire hints to consider their own careers.

- Understanding of various career paths by listening experiences of lecturers who are active in various business fields, such as academia, industry, etc.
- Understanding what is desirable to learn and engage during undergraduate course

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to do preparation and review (including assignments) of each class.

Lecture materials are prepared by each lecturer.

Evaluation methods and criteria

An assignment is given in each class and the students are required to attend it in real time, and write and submit a report on it. The reports submitted by the due date will be evaluated with the same weight for each class on how deeply they consider the assignment and how well they describe the results of their consideration.

Prerequisites

Classes are delivered in Japanese, so students should have Japanese language skills enough to understand the content of the classes.
