Course overview and goals
This class aims for the students to acquire a higher level of Japanese competence. Specifically, the students are requested to prepare the seminar on a scientist who had an impact on you.
Course description and aims
The following basic skills can be acquired after this class: 1) how to manage and arrange various kinds of documents and material about a theme, 2) selective competence of the use of suitable expressions for your seminar, and 3) the timing to use proper strategies to manage your audience.

Class flow
Students will learn basic exercises and discuss them. Based on a theme which you select, you will prepare the materials for your seminar.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.

Evaluation methods and criteria
After ensuring that attendance, examinations and assignments, discussions, and presentations are each sufficient, the overall score will be graded with a weighting of 20% for assignments, 65% for examinations, and 15% for presentations/discussions.
