Course overview and goals

This course is designed for students who have no knowledge of Russian. It focuses on developing basic discourse which is learned in Russian Conversation: Basic Course1. The aim of this course is development of oral skills, so that students will be able to communicate effectively in various everyday situations, such as self introduction, greeting, and everyday routines.During this course, students put into practice what they are learning in Russian: Basic.

At the end of this course, students will be able to :1)give greetings,2) introduce themselves, 3) question and answer, 4) communicate in various everyday situations.

Class flow

At the beginning of each class, students learn model dialogues by videos, CDs, and motion pictures. Using these materials and handouts provided by the instructor, students train conversation in Russian.

Class 1 The course schedule will be determined through discussions held among students and the instructor. Be able to communicate through simple words.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Students will be assessed on the works in classes.The instructor will explain the detail.
