Course overview and goals
In recent years, the participation in society of various people who require assistance in their daily lives - such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and children - has increased. It is a pressing issue of modern times to ensure that these individuals can live their daily lives, engage in their occupations, and attend school with confidence and comfort. The purpose of this lecture is to specifically learn about the characteristics and needs of those who require assistance and the methods to assist them. We will also discuss, from a realistic perspective, what society should look like to achieve a society of coexistence and how each of us can provide support. Students will be expected to actively participate in the discussion by visualizing the lives of those who need assistance, thinking proactively, and sharing opinions in groups.
The aim of this lecture is to acquire basic knowledge to understand the characteristics, needs, and methods of support for those who require assistance, and to develop the ability to think about how one can contribute to the welfare and realization of a society of coexistence.
