Course overview and goals
In this class, students will “practice” sociology on themes such as gender and sexuality, on urban society and ethnicity in contemporary Japanese society.
Students will be expected to read the assigned sections of the textbook, conduct a little research and fieldwork, prepare short reports, and engage in presentations and discussions.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Students’ course scores are based on in-class presentations and discussions(50%) and in-class assignments (50%)
