Syllabus

Course overview and goals

With the help of modern software solutions, Architects and Engineers can make even better choices, quickly realize errors in their designs and easily communicate with other stakeholders in a project. This design course will teach the BIM software in the design workflow and give students opportunities to learn, collaborate with team members in real-time and explore the real-life usage of BIM software. What is BIM and how do you use it? What are the benefits? How is it different from CAD? Why should students learn about BIM? How is it used in real-world multidisciplinary collaboration projects? All these questions, and many more, will be answered during the course.

1. Ability to use and understand the BIM software at an intermediate level
2. Ability to use Teamwork environment to collaborate with your team
3. Ability to incorporate BIM software into the design process
4. Learn to work efficiently using various digital tools
5. Ability to present the project using BIMx

Class flow

This course consists of lectures, activities, practices and assignments. Two individual assignment and group assignment will be given throughout the intensive course.
The materials and recorded of each class are posted online.
All assignments require online submission.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
