Course overview and goals

This course is designed to give students experiences in the real world at domestic and/or international universities, companies, and/or institutes whose researches are related to “Life Engineering; Human Centered Science and Biomedical Engineering”. It is necessary to discuss with student’s supervisor to decide the host agency.

Course description and aims

By completing this course, student acquire the following abilities:
1) Ability to understand “Life Engineering” course based on the research at the host agency.
2) Ability to integrate the knowledge acquired at the host agency into the knowledge obtained at student's laboratory.
3) Practical problem-solving skills for advanced research in the field of “Life Engineering”

Class flow

After the discussion with academic advisors, students start their research at their host agencies. After completing their research, students make activity reports during their internship.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend a certain length of time outside of class on preparation and review (including for assignments), as specified by the Institute of Science Tokyo Rules on Undergraduate Learning (東京科学大学学修規程) and the Institute of Science Tokyo Rules on Graduate Learning (東京科学大学大学院学修規程), for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Students are evaluated based on their activity at the host and their report. If misconduct, such as plagiarism or misappropriation of someone else's work is committed, we will treat it strictly: The grade of the subject will be 0.
