Course overview and goals

Lecture 1&2: Nanocrystals for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production
Nanocrystals enable efficient photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production. Composite nanocrystals, like plasmonic yolk@shell structures with Au cores and semiconductor shells, enhance charge separation, reaction rates, and catalytic performance. Examples like Au@Cu7S4 and Au@CdS demonstrate their potential for renewable energy, leveraging unique architectures and surface plasmon resonance for improved efficiency.

Lecutre 3&4: Quantum Computation and its Role for the Future Science
Modern society thrives on knowledge, with rapid advancements in science and technology driven by silicon-based classical computers. However, as Moore’s law approaches its limits, quantum computers emerge as the next frontier. These lectures cover quantum computing basics, their superiority, current challenges, and potential applications in medicine, physics, and sustainability.

Lecture 5&6: Principles and Practice of Modern Radiotherapy
These two lectures explore the principles and advancements in radiotherapy, covering its role in cancer treatment, advanced irradiation modalities, and cutting-edge research. Topics include novel dosimetry methods, FLASH therapy, AI-driven treatment planning, and emerging applications in heart disease. Gain insights into innovations enhancing precision, reducing toxicity, and improving patient outcomes.

Lecture 7: Visualization of physical condition through odor sensing by using nanomaterials and its usefulness
Visualization of physical conditions via odor sensing using nanomaterials offers a novel approach to health monitoring. By detecting specific biomarkers in exhaled breath, this technique enables non-invasive, real-time analysis, providing valuable insights into physiological states and potential diseases, with applications in personalized medicine and early diagnosis.
