Course overview and goals

This project is a course of study in which students work on specific issues that they have chosen independently, and it is complementary to the coursework based on a systematic curriculum. By carrying out the project, students are expected to improve their specialist skills and acquire comprehensive development skills that are needed in society, such as communication skills necessary for discussion with others, the ability to discover and set new issues and problems, and the ability to lead unresolved problems to a solution.
Students will conduct research on a research topic decided upon in consultation with their academic advisor. They will deepen their understanding of matters related to the research topic through research into literature and other sources, and clarify issues through research activities and discussions. In the process of conducting research, students will acquire methods for solving problems by utilizing the specialized knowledge they have acquired through various subjects they have studied up to that point, as well as basic knowledge in related fields. In addition, students will become highly proficient in research methods such as data acquisition, analysis of acquired data, and consideration of the results, and will also develop the ability to view things from multiple perspectives. Furthermore, students will compile the results they have obtained into research papers, and will present and discuss them.

Course description and aims

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
1) Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering to solve problems related to the field
2) Study the fundamentals of fields other than electrical and electronic engineering independently to solve problems
3) Understand the significance of electrical and electronic engineering problems, judge their influence on society, and solve them
4) Explain concepts logically, discuss them, and put them in writing
5) Work as an independent researcher and have the knowledge and oral competence to present his/her point of view effectively during discussions
