Course overview and goals
This course will provide current technologies and up-to-date issues for the development of automobile by the lectures who have practical experience in research and development, in particular the following items:
1. General trend in automotive and mobility industry
2. Fundamental technologies associated with automobile and mobility technology
3. Various topics associated with automobile and mobility

1. Up-to-date issues in automotive and mobility industry
2. Specific technological elements that consists of automobile and mobility technology
3. Various issues and challenges associated with automobile and mobility technology development

Class flow
This course is organized by lecture and exercise for homework. Students take the classes in the lecture room, and each lecturer gives the lecture either in the lecture room or online in live-type. Lecturer of faculty member handles the interactive environment.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Homework report (about 40%) and the final report (about 60%) will be evaluated for score.

Prerequisites
Many students are expected to take this course since the automotive technology is necessary in wide range of modern business sectors. Students are expected to have successfully completed the classes of thermodynamics, fundamental fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and mechanical vibrations in mechanical engineering, or have equivalent knowledge, understanding and skills. Necessary course guidance may be provided for each particular student considering that the course is 300th-Level of ME Department. Students who enrolled on or after April 1, 2024 (24B~) are not eligible to take this course in FY2025.
