Syllabus
Course overview and goals
Doctoral students enrolled in the Graduate Major in Materials and Information Sciences will present and discuss the background, objectives, progress, and future prospects of their research with a diverse audience, including researchers from various fields and reviewers from industry. In their presentations, students will explain the societal significance of their research from a social perspective and showcase their achievements in "Materials × Information" research.
Multiple faculty members and industry reviewers will evaluate the presentations and provide feedback. Additionally, students will listen to presentations by peers from different fields and engage in discussions about each other's research.
Furthermore, students will have meetings with their assigned corporate mentors, receiving feedback from the perspectives of leadership, execution ability, broad vision, creativity, and complexity.
Course description and aims
Students will develop the ability to comprehensively understand their research and effectively communicate it to researchers outside their field and industry reviewers in a clear and engaging manner. They will also gain an understanding of the societal relevance of their research and cultivate a multifaceted perspective necessary for practicing "Materials × Information" research.
Through their presentations and discussions with students from different disciplines, they will acquire interdisciplinary communication skills. Additionally, through meetings with corporate mentors, they will objectively assess their own situation and utilize mentor feedback for their growth as researchers.

Class flow
