Course overview and goals

Mathematical Science is an interdisciplinary field, and graduates of Dept. of Mathematics are expected to be active in various fields in society. For these purposes, it is indispensable to develop skills of the to present their own research results and transmit them to society. In this course, students will make and carry out a plan for the development of these skills by themselves.

By the end of this course, students will be able to enhance their career development skills by their own learning program.

Class flow

Students will make and carry out a learning program by themselves. Self-motivating approach is the key of this course.

Course schedule Objectives
Class 1 The course will follow the procedure; 1) students carry out the programs by themselves during the quarter 2) students submit reports to the subject teacher by the end of the quarter 3) the subject teacher assesses the students' attitude and achievements based on the report. Examples of the programs: -carry out the oral presentations based on the master thesis topics and present the progress report. To make a plan by oneself, carry out it, and enhance career development skills
