授業の目的（ねらい）、概要

この授業は長期留学を目指す学生のための授業である。授業では英語の四技能のうち、特に聴解力と発話力の向上のための訓練を行う。長期留学に必要な英語力（大学学部生の一般教養科目レベルのコンテンツを英語できいて講義ノートを取り、ゼミで発表したり意見を述べたりすることができる）の専門的支障のない程度の語彙力とスコアを獲得を目指す。

到達目標

TOEFLの設問を理解し、その概要を追うことができる。またそれの内容について、要点だけではなく概要を口頭で明晰に説明することができ、教室内の学生からの質問に明晰に答えられる。また簡単なディベートも行なうことができる。

授業の進め方

This course is designed to help students develop effective communication skills specifically relevant to the TOEFL iBT. Organized by topic, each week focuses on targeted strategies and techniques to improve speaking and listening performance on the test. Students will engage in skill-building exercises and practice activities that directly support success in TOEFL iBT assessments.

If the number of students wishing to enroll exceeds the limit, enrollment may be restricted. All prospective students must attend the first class.

第1回	Introduction to Test and Speaking Questions: Independent Speaking (Organizing Speech) Listening: Main Idea Questions	Speaking: Develop skills to organize ideas clearly and effectively for your speech. Listening: Practice identifying the main idea in lectures and conversations.
第2回	Speaking: Independent Speaking (Test Questions) Listening: Detail Questions	Speaking: Review skills introduced in Week 1, reinforcing clarity and pronunciation through sample examples. Listening: Practice identifying major points and supporting details in lectures and conversations.
第3回	Speaking: Integrated Speaking (Synthesizing Information) Listening: Vocab Review and Mini Test	Speaking: Develop the ability to clearly organize and connect multiple pieces of information into a coherent speech. Listening: Prepare for mini test
第4回	Speaking: Integrated Speaking (Test Questions) Listening: Function Questions	Speaking: Review skills introduced in Week 3, reinforcing stress and intonation through sample examples. Listening: Practice inferring the reasons a speaker uses specific phrases in lectures or conversations.
第5回	Speaking: Integrated Speaking (Summarizing) Listening: Stance Questions	Speaking: Develop the ability to summarize ideas clearly and concisely in speech. Listening: Practice recognizing the speaker’s feelings, attitudes, or opinions in lectures and conversations.
第6回	Speaking: Integrated Speaking (Test Questions) Listening: Vocab Review and Mini Test	Speaking: Review skills introduced in Week 5, reinforcing proper speech rhythms through sample examples. Listening: Prepare for mini test
第7回	Sample TOEFL listening & speaking experience	Speaking & Listening: Gain confidence and experience by practicing under simulated TOEFL test conditions.

準備学修(事前学修・復習)等についての指示

学修効果を上げるため，教科書や配布資料等の該当箇所を参照し，「毎授業」授業内容に関する予習と復習（課題含む）をそれぞれ概ね100分を目安に行うこと。
