Course overview and goals

This course aims to deepen students' understanding of the actual systems of Japanese companies and industries through a series of lectures given by professional company staff and study tours.
Japanese company engineers or administrators will give seven lectures on Ookayama campus regarding working environment, company culture and required communication/language skills. Study tour will not be held this year.

Course description and aims

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. deepen their understanding on the Japanese industrial and social system
2. understand the working environment, culture and required communication/language skills of several companies and organizations in Japan
3. understand the actual technical systems of Japanese companies and public organizations.

Class flow

This course is originally composed of site visits and lectures of the staff of companies/related organizations.
However, site visits may not be conducted considering the situation of COVID-19.
In that case, the briefing and lectures will be offered by Zoom.
All lecture materials and zoom info will be distributed through OCWi.
