Course overview and goals

This course introduces on health-related theories, remarks and observations, in order to think and judge what is good for health and to understand underlying mechanisms.

Course description and aims

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Have an understanding of basic sciences related to health-related and biological sciences.
2) Design a preferable lifestyle based on scientific evidence.
3) Using health-related knowledge, tackle practical health issues by applying knowledge acquired through this course.

Class 2 Wellness and lifestyle-related diseases Understanding the concept of wellness and the risk factors of lifestyle-related diseases.
Class 3 Exercise and lifestyle-related diseases Understanding the effect of exercise for health promotion.
Class 4 Health and nutrition / diet (1) Understanding the relationship between wellness and nutrition / diet (three major nutrients).
Class 5 Health and nutrition / diet (2) Understanding the relationship between wellness and nutrition / diet (vitamins, minerals, supplements, etc.).
Class 6 Health and nutrition / diet (3) Understanding the relationship between wellness and nutrition / diet (hydration).
Class 7 Sports performance improvement and nutrition Understanding nutritional support to improve sports performance.
