Course overview and goals

This course focuses on the relationship between historic city and its landscape in the first half.
The second half discusses the history of green space planning.

Course description and aims

At the end of the course, students will be able to:
1.Explain idea of urban and green space planning from the standpoint of landscape.
2.Explain the variety and meaning of the framework of urban and green space planning from the historical perspective.

Class flow

This class meets once a week for 7weeks.
Some ideological experiments without advance knowledge are done at times to deepen the understanding about the concept of city in the first half.
The second half discusses the history of green space planning.

After class, student are encouraged to deepen discussion of city, green space, and keywords on them presented in class.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The first half:Participation in each thought experiment(30%)+Report(70%)
The second half:Report(100%)
Total= average of the first and second half grades
