授業の目的（ねらい）、概要
「アカデミックプレゼンテーション」のコースはすべて、さまざまな学問的な場でプレゼンテーションをおこなうための技能訓練を目的とする。実践的な練習を通じて、学生はこうした技能を効果的に発表に適用し、自信をもって多様な状況に対応するための知識を修得する。自分の考えを明晰に伝えるための戦略を学べるよう、教員は建設的なフィードバックをおこなう。さらに、学生は聴衆としても、仲間に対して洞察力のある刺激的な質問ができるよう、リスニングの技能を磨く。
400番台の選択科目として、「アカデミックプレゼンテーション第十四」は、大学院生が豊富な知識に基づくプレゼンテーションをおこなうために必要な技能を身につけることを目指す。
到達目標
コース終了時には、学生はアカデミックな場で一人でプレゼンテーションをおこない、質疑応答をこなすことができる。また、言語によるメッセージと非言語のメッセージをともに意識しつつ、聴衆を惹きつける発表をおこない、発表後は聴衆からの質問にも巧みに答えることができる。

授業の進め方
The course will guide students through the process of giving a presentation - from the planning stages and awareness of the elements of an effective presentation, to signposting, through to the main body of the presentation to the final question and answer session.
