授業の目的（ねらい）、概要
TOEFLのReadingとWritingの各セクションの試験形式・内容に留意しつつ、英語力を向上させる。
TOEFLのReading SectionおよびWriting セクションの得点を向上させると共に、英語圏の大学で教育を受けるのに必要な英語力を身につけることを目指す。
到達目標
この授業科目は、次のような知識や能力を身につけることを目指す。
・ReadingおよびWriting セクションを中心にTOEFLテストがどのようなもので、好成績を残すにはどのように取り組めば良いかを理解する。
・学問分野における英語の知識を広げると共に、英語の全般的なreadingとwritingの力を身につける。

授業の進め方
3Q+4Qの目標：1Qと2Qの内容を復習しながら、実践強化（解答での瞬発力と速度をあげる）、そのために必要なスキル習得をめざします。
（語彙）語形成の基礎を固める
（読解）250語未満のリーディング問題を時間内に解けるように練習
（ライティング）Email型とDiscussion型において、複雑な状況をニュアンスを含めて時間内で書けるようにする。
授業前：課題に取り組み、グーグル・フォーム経由で提出します。
授業：課題についてのディスカッション、ライティングの練習、ピアレヴューなどを行います。
履修希望者が多い場合には人数制限を行うことがあります。履修希望者は必ず初回授業に出席してください。また、初回の授業内でクラスへの受入が確認されるまでは、教科書は購入しないで下さい。

準備学修(事前学修・復習)等についての指示
学修効果を上げるため，教科書や配布資料等の該当箇所を参照し，「毎授業」授業内容に関する予習と復習（課題含む）をそれぞれ概ね100分を目安に行うこと。
