Syllabus
Course overview and goals
Students will have interests and deepen their understanding of modern society of Japan. They will also understand the history of post-war history of Japan and the concept "Japanese model," "Japan model" in sociological sciences. The class has the duplicated contents "Sociology A."
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) Explain the basic thoughts and characteristics of post war history of Japan.
2) View modern society using sociological thinking.
3) Explain "Japan model."

Class flow
This course consists of lectures combined with discussions in small groups, presentations, and the like. Some student have to write the resume, report the content of the textbook. Lecturer will complement additionally in the discussion to understand further. Students must prepare the class.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
