Syllabus
Course overview and goals
Design and practice new teaching methods that utilize the ICT media, such as class supporting system, electronic blackboard, and digital textbooks.
Based on the learning outcomes of "Educational Technology" and "Curriculum Design and Management", this course enhances teaching abilities by understanding the relationship between the information technology and education. The aims of this course are 1) students are able to teach subjects by utilizing digital textbooks and electronic blackboard effectively, 2) students are able to teach subjects by using student centered approach but teacher centered approach in order to foster 21st century skills.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) understand the relationship between information technology and education, actually design instruction in a class.
2) teach by new instructional methods that utilize the ICT media, such as class supporting system, electronic blackboard, and digital textbooks.

Class flow
Students learn new instructional method using ICT media such as a class supporting system, an electronic blackboard and digital textbooks, and demonstrate a mini lesson.

Class 1 | Orientation, Importance and theory of ICT in classes | Review the lesson design method |
Class 2 | Independent, interactive and deep learning and teaching methods using ICT | Students are required to explain what independent, interactive and deep learning is. |
Class 3 | Teaching methods that utilize the ICT media, and promotion of school affairs | Students are required to make teaching plan using class supporting system, digital media, such as digital textbooks, internet resources and electronic blackboard. |
Class 4 | Instruction method for developing information utilization ability | Students are required to design teaching plan to develop abilities to use ICT |
Class 5 | The first trial lesson and mutual evaluation | Students should reflect their lesson based on feedback comments, and make the 2nd teaching plan. |
Class 6 | Reflection of the first trial lesson | Students should reflect their second lesson based on feedback comments. |
Class 7 | The second trial lesson and mutual evaluation Reflection and Summary | Students should reflect their second lesson based on feedback comments. |
