Course overview and goals

The Intermediate Chinese course is the one for those who have learnt Chinese for one year. The aim of this course is for such students to improve their ability to speak, listen to, and read Chinese .

Course description and aims

At the end of this course, students will be able to reach the third grade of the Test of Chinese Proficiency(CHUKEN),or the fourth grade~fifth grade of the Chinese Proficiency Test(HSK).

Class flow

The instructor will explain the grammatical phenomena of the text to students, and have them make sentence, so that the instructor can check whether or not they understand what they were taught. This will help them to improve their language skills in reading. The drills of the textbook will also help them improve their skills of speaking and listening .

Class 5 How did you spend your New Year Holiday? Acquire grammar and vocabulary for reading.
Class 6 How was your test? Acquire grammar and vocabulary for reading.
Class 7 A test and exercise. A test and exercise.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 30 minutes preparing for class and another 30 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
