Course overview and goals

This course "Italian 1-4" aims at developing knowledge of elementary Italian grammar, on purpose to read and write simple Italian sentenses and have a basic everyday conversation. Students will be also able to gain knowledge about Italian culture and history through language.

In this course students will be able to:
1. understand italian culture.
2. acquire elementary Italian grammar.
3. have a basic everyday conversation.

Class time will be used a textbook and CD for beginners.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The scores are based on review test (60%) and exercises in classes(40%).
