Course overview and goals

This lecture clarifies energy and environmental issues, which have been gaining importance in recent years in a globalizing society, based on various statistical data and materials from the current situation in Japan and abroad. The lecture will also provide basic knowledge to examine energy and environmental issues in relation to technology, economy, and social systems, and to understand the framework for seeking solutions to these issues through specific policies and case studies.
The aim of this course is to provide students with enough knowledge to examine closely interrelated social issues such as energy, resources, and the environment, both from a holistic perspective and in some depth on individual issues.
