Course overview and goals

This lecture is intended for students enrolled before 2023. If you wish to take this class, please contact Nakajima by email in advance. Students enrolling in 2024 or later cannot take this course.

What do you need to deepen your understanding of different cultures? In this lecture, we will investigate the actual situation of foreigners living in Japan. Then, through discussions and presentations in the group, we will pursue the ideal way of building relationships. In the first half of the year, discussions will focus on Asian immigrants living in Japan.

This course aims to cultivate the students’ abilities of:
building mutually beneficial relationship;
having rich humanities, including understanding of diverse values and perspectives;
gaining higher expertise;
carrying out effective analysis and integration; and transformation and transaction.

Course description and aims

At the end of this course, student will be able to:
1) Ability to build mutually beneficial relationship;
2) Rich humanity, including understanding of the diverse values; and
3) Ability to analyse and integrate. Problem solving skills.
