Syllabus

Course overview and goals

In the "Educational Media and Design A", students learn the theoretical aspects of the learning contents. In conjunction with the content, in the "Practice of Educational Media and Design A", students will produce a video content for learning. Through a series of processes of design → recording → edit → evaluation → revising the video content, students learn how to produce a high-quality learning video content.

In this course, the aims are to produce high-quality video content suitable for e-Learning and to learn the validity of the PDCA circle.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) produce a high-quality video content for learning.
2) learn the validity of the PDCA cycle by the practice of production → mutual evaluation → revising

Course schedule/Objectives

Course schedule Objectives
Class 1 Production of a video content project document and a storyboard Students can create a video content production plan and a storyboard so that video shooting is possible.
Class 2 Shooting video content Students shoot video clips.
Class 3 Shooting video content Students shoot video clips.
Class 4 Editing of video content Students edit video content.
Class 5 Peer-evaluation (1) Students do peer-evaluation of the video content that has been produced.
Class 6 Re-editing of video contents Students will re-edit the video content in response to the evaluation results.
Class 7 Peer-evaluation (2) Students review their video production process and make self-evaluation.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
