Course overview and goals
On the basis of individual research contents and outcomes, students will have an opportunity to present their own research at open international conferences and international workshops not restricted to specific participants and held in Japan or anywhere else, where you can improve your ability to make presentations and explanations in English and to understand and develop discussions in English, as well as gain knowledge of cutting-edge research.
Course description and aims
Through this experience, students will objectively grasp one's own research level and presentation ability, thereby giving a feedback to the subsequent research activities.

Class flow
On the basis of individual research contents and outcomes, students will have an opportunity to present their own research at open international conferences and international workshops held in Japan or anywhere else (no condition is set for the period), where you can improve your ability to make presentations and explanations in English and to understand and develop discussions in English. In addition, the students need to summarize what they have noticed and discovered through this experience, and show the direction to reflect on the future study.

| Class 1 | Students proceed the individual project according to the following steps: 1. Approval of the presentation plan by supervisor 2. Make a presentation in the international conferences/meetings (no requirement of the period). 3. Presentation at GEDES student workshop 4. Submission of the report to supervisor | Focus on the following points and make the presentation and report at the workshop. ・Minimize the explanation of the meeting that you attended, and make a presentation by focusing on what you have noticed and the results of your learning through this opportunity. ・Introduce the details of discussions, questions and your responses/answers to other participants, and include how to utilize this experience in your study plan and research activities in the future. |

Evaluation methods and criteria
Evaluation will be made based on the presentation at the workshop of student activities (2 minutes presentation, 4 minutes Q&A) and the activity report (2 pages or more).

Prerequisites
Approval of supervisor is required.
Each one has to make a presentation in the earliest workshop (in February or August) after the activity is finished. We cannot give credits to those who register for the workshop which is held beyond one year since the end of the activity.
To make a presentation in the workshop held in August and February, students must take the course named with A or B, and the course named with C or D, respectively.
