Course overview and goals
In the modern architectural design world, there are a variety of design competitions aimed at architects. These competitions expect and assess competitors on not just their basic competence in architectural design, but also whether their conceptualization of ideas and ability to present drawings are on a high level. This exercise deals with design competitions that students are eligible for as a simulation of real-world design, and aside from providing motivation for taking part in these design competitions, a review of the final submission enhances students' ability to explain with language.
Course description and aims
By taking with this course, the following skills are acquired. 1) Increased motivation to participate in design competitions 2) Enhanced conceptional ability and drawing creation skills when working alone, not in a group 3) Linguistic explanation skills in feedback sessions that serve as boards of review (English)

Class flow
Students are encouraged to take part in design competitions, to each decide on a problem, and create a project. A presentation review session is held for the final submission.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
