Syllabus
Course overview and goals
Students will, in consultation with their teacher, understand the position of the research topic in society, based on the specialized knowledge they have learned, clarify the problems, and set goals. With the teacher's guidance, they will carry out the planned experiments and analyses, and learn the methods and logical thinking needed to understand the results. During the research period, students will acquire advanced knowledge and basic skills in experiments and analysis in the field of life science and engineering. They will also develop the ability to summarize and present their results.
Course description and aims
1) The ability to understand the societal context of unresolved problems in the field of life science and engineering, and to clarify the issues that need to be addressed.
2) The basic skills to plan and carry out experiments and analyses related to the assigned research topic.
3) The ability to interpret the results, form hypotheses, and conduct further experiments and analyses using logical thinking.
4) Fundamental knowledge and skills in experiments and analysis within the field of life science and engineering.
5) The ability to explain and express their own ideas.
