Course overview and goals
This course focuses on the fundamental knowledge and methodology for precise synthesis, self-assembly, thin film technology, and structure control technology in organic and polymeric materials.
Course description and aims
Organic and polymeric materials form a variety of hierarchical self-assembled structures based on various intermolecular interactions between the molecules. By the study on the thin film formation, and long range ordering and miniaturization of structures in the material development on the basis of the self-assembly, it is possible to create the most suitable functions and physical properties of the materials in each device. Students get the skills of science and technology of precise polymerization and thin film formation, and methodology for alignment and orientation and long-range ordering of self-assembled structures mainly on the self-assembling polymer materials in this lecture.
