Course overview and goals

In order to develop technologies for “Life Engineering; Human Centered Science and Biomedical Engineering” research filed, it is very important to integrate knowledge and technologies of different fields. In other words, researchers in “Life Engineering” field are required to have deep and wide knowledge of both their specialized areas and different field related to “Life Engineering”.
In this course, students attend a lecture in a different department, gain wide expertise knowledge, and understand the relationship between the lecture and their specialized field.

Course description and aims

By completing this course, students will be able to:
1) Understand fundamental expert knowledge of other fields.
2) Discuss the relationship and synergistic effect for the integration of knowledge of different fields.

Class flow

Students select one of classes 1 ,2 or 3. Students are encouraged to choose either class 2 or 3.
In class 1, students select and attend a lecture (course number: 200 or 300) in a different field from the department of the students.
In classes 2 and 3, students attend a specially prepared lecture given in English.
