Syllabus

Course overview and goals

Students in this course choose one of several topics to make a presentation on in English. Topics include, for example, research topics and the future and the culture and nature of one's native country. The presenter must make the presentation with special attention given to the fact that the audience has a variety of scientific and cultural backgrounds. The purpose of this course is to deepen mutual understanding between international students themselves, as well as between international students and Japanese students, by communicating with each other.

Students will improve their English presentation skills.
Students will deepen mutual understanding with students from other countries.

Class flow

Students will give a roughly 15 minute English presentation and hold a Q&A. The audience will actively engage in the Q&A.

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
