Course overview and goals

The principal subject is to take an internship offered by any company or agency including any universities in order to gain new knowledge and/or abilities outside the campus or to learn methodology to apply knowledge and/or abilities gained inside the campus or in order to gain new approaches and/or strategies in a different discipline. The content of the internship must be appropriate as a part of the curriculum of Energy Engineering. Before the internship, planning should be approved in the subject "Energy Science and Informatics Engineering Project (ESI.P601) as the prerequisite for this course. The reporting with presentation are required as a part of this course. The duration of internship is normally three months in this course.

The aims of this course are
(1) to gain new knowledge and/or abilities that are usually difficult to gain inside the campus, and/or
(2) to learn methodology to apply knowledge and/or abilities gained inside the campus, and/or
(3) to gain new approaches and/or strategies in a different discipline.

Class flow

Planning should be documented in the subject of "Energy Science and Informatics Engineering Project (ESI.P601)" before participating in the internship. Reporting is required either by document or by presentation after finishing the internship.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend a certain length of time outside of class on preparation and review (including for assignments), as specified by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Undergraduate Learning (東京工業大学学修規程) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology Rules on Graduate Learning (東京工業大学大学院学修規程), for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Score is evaluated based on reporting. Reporting is in the form of document or presentation.
The supervisor submits the results to the course educational committee with the related documents, and after the document inspection, the Energy Science and Informatics course representatives determine the final acceptance.
