Course overview and goals
The student conducts research on a theme determined through discussions with his/her academic supervisor. The student gets a deep understanding of his/her research theme by reading related literature, and associated problems are defined and solved through research activities and discussions. While conducting research, student will learn how to solve problems using specialized knowledge gained in own field and the basic knowledge of other related fields acquired in various courses.
Finally, the student writes a research plan for the advanced independent research project.
Through this project, students will develop their experience gained in independent research projects and further improve their ability to conduct research. It is expected to acquire the ability to discover new problems and devise solutions, and to publish and present the research results.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Apply knowledge of information and communications engineering and other fields to solve problems in the research.
2.Find problems in the field of information and communications engineering, and determine their influence and the impact of problem solving on society.
3. Explain the concepts of research logically, discuss them, and summarize them in writing and presentation.
4. Submit a report on the research plan. (Select 1c or 2c depending on research period and content)
