Syllabus

Course overview and goals

Students in this course will enjoy a long-term project of 1 month or more at a foreign university or research institute.
The goal of this course is that by engaging in research in a different environment from Tokyo Tech, students will develop a broad perspective and rich communication skills.
Students are required to spend a total of 80 hours or more of hands-on practice at their host organization.

Course description and aims

1) Ability to understand trends in research and development from a global perspective to conduct research
2) Communication skills for understanding one another and smoothly performing research and development
3) Ability to acquire expertise in a variety of fields on one's own, and the skills to engage in practical problem solving

Class flow

Students should consult with their supervisor or academic advisor about their study abroad destination and research topics in advance, and complete a study abroad application at T2Apps at least two months prior to their departure. The course instructor will decide whether or not the student can enrol in this course based on the study abroad application and the study abroad plan.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Specifics of the assessment criteria and methods, in accordance with the student learning outcomes 1)-3), will be determined prior to the start of the course.
Students must submit the study abroad report to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department. The course will evaluate it with the assessment criteria.
