Course overview and goals

This course focuses on fundamentals of precision machinery and introduces modern precision machines and micro-nano machines.

Course description and aims

In order for students to understand the concept of precision machinery, the instructor lectures on many precision elements such as bearings, guideways, feeding elements, actuators and sensors and fabrication methods.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Understanding of the lecture will be evaluated by exercises (30%) and the final exam (70%).
