Course overview and goals
International academic exchange is important in the field of Earth and planetary sciences. Graduates of Dept. of Earth and Planetary Sciences are expected to transmit their research results to the world as researchers and work on a world scale as engineers. For these purposes, it is indispensable to develop communication skills in English. In this course, students will make and carry out a plan for the development of their English skills by themselves. International students who are already fluent in English can earn credit by studying academic Japanese.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Based on your learning proposal and activity report. The instructor will evaluate if your proposal clearly defines your learning goals and if your report clearly describes your self-evaluation of the learning activities.
