Course overview and goals
This course aims to acquire
- presentation skills in Japanese and
- cross-cultural understanding
through discussion on different cultures from various point of view.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1) describe their own culture and society,
2) understand the background to cultural difference,
3) give a presentation about Japanese culture and society from their point of view.

Class flow
Topics change in every lesson. Every lesson contains a discussion. Classroom participation and the final exam. are mandatory.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.

Assessment will be conducted based on student's presentation(30%), discussions(20%) and a final exam.(50%).
