Course overview and goals
The purpose of this lecture is to think about "desirable future society" in 2050. In this class, students imagine the future "daily life" and "working style" based on development of science and technology. In addition to lecturers, students will participate in group works.
Course description and aims
The goal of this class is to make it possible to show the ideal image of the society in 2050. It should be designed by incorporating the progress of science and technology, and social issues such as climate change and gender gap in the world. Being able to imagine how big scientific and global change affect our daily lives.

Class flow
The instructors will give talks. Students will be divided into several groups. Each group will research the future society, design it, and make a presentation. Business people whose employers are cooperated with D-Lab at Titech might participate in this class. For the detail, students will have information in the first class.

Study advice (preparation and review)
To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.

Reference books, course materials, etc.
Watching films or reading novels describing future society or alternative history science fictions helps students to think about the class.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Active participation to the class(Active participation in every homework submission and every group work. To be specific, speak actively, have a role in joint work, and commit):70% Final project and a report:30%

Prerequisites
This class will be face-to-face. The classroom is room W242 on the 4th floor of West Bldg. 2. This is not a ZOOM class, so please make sure to come to school.
Group work will be conducted in each class. Please be sure to bring your computer and smart phone with you to class. They will be used for class and attendance checks.
