Course schedule Objectives
Class 1 You will learn how to study history. To understand "How to study history."
Class 2 A study of history at the museum. To understand different ways of studying history at the museum.
Class 3 Museums and History. To think about the relationship between museums and history.
Class 4 The history of the Sengoku era and that of the modern era. To think about the use of the history of the Sengoku era in modern Japan.
Class 5 Historical studies and contemporary social problems. To think about an "aging society."
Class 6 History as a practical science. To think of history from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Class 7 What is "History"? Final exam. Summary and final exam. To think about what kind of study is "history".

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
