Course overview and goals

This class reads intensively 'Beyond Left and Right: The Future of Radical Politics,' 'The Third Way: The Renewal of Social Democracy' by Anthony Giddens. Giddens is one of the outstanding sociologist, and worked the brain of the Brair government in UK.
The purpose of this class understands the relation between politics, policy and sociology.

Students will be able to:
1) explain the importance of sociological analysis of policy and politics
2) explain the personality and works about Anthony Giddens
3) understand 'Beyond Left and Right: The Future of Radical Politics' 'The Third Way: The Renewal of Social Democracy' deeply, and explain the detail of the text.
