Course overview and goals

This intensive course invites a foreign architect practicing cutting edge architectural theory to conduct a design project in architecture and urban spaces, with a different topic every year. The objective of this course is to become familiar with the language of architectural critique and to cultivate the skills to practice it by examining architectural design in the context of modern society and urban spaces.

Course description and aims

By the end of this course, students will learn how to build and practice critical language in architecture.

Based on the understanding of social construct materialized in the built environment this studio propose critical intervention to the existing urban space. This process which starts from induction then turns into deduction, can only teach by experienced architect.

Class flow

The course is held over a period of two weeks. Invited foreign architects decide on the topics and progression of lectures within the period.

Study advice (preparation and review)

To enhance effective learning, students are encouraged to spend approximately 100 minutes preparing for class and another 100 minutes reviewing class content afterwards (including assignments) for each class.
They should do so by referring to textbooks and other course material.
