Course overview and goals
All students are required to obtain the credit for ONE of either English 5, English 6, or English 7. English 5 is a course that requires submission of the TOEIC test score in order for credit to be granted. No attendance is necessary apart from the compulsory orientation session in the first week. Students register for this course in the fifth term of the old curriculum (i.e. the first and second quarters of their third academic year). The credits are given to those who have achieved or exceeded the minimum required TOEIC score set by each Department, and who have submitted their score by the deadline. This is one of the old curriculum courses offered on a semester basis.
This course aims at comprehensively improving students' English skills so that they should be able to achieve a TOEIC score well above the required minimum.
Course description and aims
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
・ develop overall English proficiency, with particular emphasis on listening and reading skills.
・ achieve or exceed the minimum required TOEIC score set by each Department.
